Lawyer is most honorable profession in society: Chief Justice Khosa

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa on Saturday said that the profession of lawyer is the most respectable in society as he struggles for its deprived classes.

According to ARY News, the chief justice was addressing a ceremony at a law college in Lahore.

Justice Khosa said that a doctor heal only a physical disease, a spiritual healer treat spiritual problems but lawyers work for the rights of a society.

He said the lawyers struggled for the independence of judiciary. He said no person can raise finger at lawyers who build a high character.

He said to become a good lawyer one has to work hard. A good lawyer must be aware of all affairs in a society, the chief justice said.

The lawyers have required to create an association with newspapers and books, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said.

The study of history, mathematics and literature is essential for a good lawyer, the chief justice said. To understand a law required to know its history, the mathematics give you the logic and the literature teaches you how to communicate your argument and point in a best way to a judge, the top judge said.

“In my opinion the lawyers should also have house job like the doctors”, Justice Khosa said.

He said that the clerks and Munshis know better about the case proceedings than new lawyers.
