LAHORE: The Judicial Activism Panel of lawyers have written a letter to the Speaker National Assembly seeking cancellation of production orders of Shehbaz Sharif.

The copies of the letter were also sent to the Chairman and Director General of National Accountability Bureau.

The letter said that the production order of an accused could not be issued during the period of physical remand.

Shehbaz Sharif talked against the state institutions in National Assembly session, which is a violation of the constitution, the letter further said.

Shehbaz Sharif has also violated the oath and the rules of the production order, according to the letter, demanding withdrawal of the production order.

The letter also seeks a reference against the PML-N president for violation of his oath of office.

Moreover, a review petition has been filed in Lahore High Court aginst rejection of the bail plea of opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif.

The review petition, filed in the court by A.K. Doggar Advocate, said that the two-member bench of the high court refused the bail plea of Shehbaz Sharif without any legal justification .

It further pleaded that the arrest of the accused by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prior to completion of the inquiry and proofs of charges, has been violation of the constitution. Shehbaz Sharif was arrested in Ashiana Housing Scandal without completion of inquiry and evidence, it further said.

The NAB’s power to arrest an accused during the inquiry contravenes the constitution, the petition said.

The petitioner sought the court to set aside the earlier court order on October 24, and seek orders for the PML-N leader’s release on bail.
