Star-studded premiere of Punjab Nahi Jaungi in Karachi

KARACHI: Premiere ceremony of Punjab Nahi Jaungi,  the latest offering by Salman Iqbal Films, ARY Films & Six Sigma Plus, was held at Nueplex Cinema in Karachi on Tuesday.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi is a romantic-drama directed by the award-winning director, Nadeem Baig and produced by Salman Iqbal, Shehzad Nasib, Humayun Saeed and Jerjees Seja.

A large number of celebrities, film lovers, many dignitaries including cast of the movie and media persons graced the occasion with their presence.

“Punjab Nahi Jaungi is the first film to release under the banner of ARY Films this year and we are proud to be providing quality entertainment to our viewers consistently. We hope to continue the same trend,” shared Salman Iqbal, Founder and President of ARY Digital Network.

The anticipation and fervor around Punjab Nahi Jaungi is not dying and everyone is just waiting for September 1, when the movie will finally release across Pakistan.

Mehwish Hayat said she herself was very excited for release of the film and she believed that the movie would be highly admired by the viewers.

Almost all the top publications and blogs of the country have rated the trailer and songs as technically sound and aesthetically perfect. The cast is promoting the movie at home and abroad with people waiting in lines to watch their favourite actors.

Written by the legendary playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, of Sadqay Tumhare and Pyarey Afzal fame, Punjab Nahi Jaungi boasts an A-list ensemble cast including Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Ahmad Ali Butt, Urwa Hocane, Azfar Rehman, Sohail Ahmed, Safina Behroz, Behroz Subzwari, Saba Hamid, Waseem Abbas & Naveed Shehzad.

As the trailer suggests, Humayun Saeed plays Fawad Khagga, a lad who falls in love with city girl Amal (Mehwish Hayat) and wants to take her to Punjab.

As a modern girl, Amal is horrified at the prospect of leaving the city life behind. Fawad is heartbroken but his faith in love is unshakeable. He vows to win Amal through the sheer strength of his love. What follows is a test of love, friendship and family and Fawad’s ultimate quest to bring Amal with him to Punjab.
