SARGODHA: Former premier Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz on Saturday said the Supreme Court’s latest ruling has boosted, unified and strengthened Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Addressing the social media convention of the ruling PML-N, she said the position of her father has become stronger in the party following the ruling on petitions challenging the Elections Act 2017.
Calling upon the party supporter to exercise restraint over the top court’s decision, Maryam said it is the testing time for her family, the party leaders and supporters. “They [judges] have to disqualify the millions of people to seclude Nawaz Sharif from his voters,” she underscored.
The former premier’s daughter was responding to the verdict announced by the apex court disqualifying him from serving the ruling party as president under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
Launching another bitter diatribe against judiciary, Maryam said the ruling party has been dropped out in the upcoming Senate elections owing to Sharif’s ineligibility to head the party. “Had it happened ever before in Pakistan’s history,” she asked.
To which, the supporters responded negatively.
Deploring the ongoing graft proceedings against the family members, she solicited support from the masses and said the justice to her father would be done if they continue extending their support to Sharif-led PML-N.
