Maryam Nawaz’s BMW registered as a motorcycle in Islamabad excise records

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz appeared before the Panamagate JIT in a car bearing the number plate of a motorcycle, ARY News anchor Arshad Sharif revealed on Wednesday. 

A simple search on Islamabad excise website reveals that the car Maryam Nawaz used to arrive at the judicial academy on Wednesday is registered as a motorcycle. The car’s number plate read SN-777 which is registered as Honda CG-125 in the name of one Muhammad Daud.

The PM’s daughter, who,  according to an estimate, arrived in a motorcade comprising at least eight cars had another BMW bearing a BC-348 number plate. The Islamabad excise website says that the vehicle is Honda Civic-Model 2014 and owned by Faysal Bank.

A land cruiser in the motorcade bearing registration number CS-787 is registered as Toyota Axio- Model 2007 and owned by Imran Maqbool, according to the Islamabad excise website.

Maryam Nawaz arrived at the JIT secretariat amid tight security with an entourage of eight vehicles. Her spouse Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar and brothers, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz, as well as PML-N leaders, including Marriyum Aurangzeb, the minister of State for Information, accompanied her to the JIT secretariat.

She was the ninth member of the family to be summoned by the JIT for interrogation with regard to the Panama Papers probe.
