RAWALPINDI: The transfer of convicted PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz from Adiala jail to Sihala rest house has been temporarily postponed, ARY News reported.

The administration of PIMS hospital, tasked to conduct medical checkup of Maryam, was informed of the delay in relocation of ousted prime minister Nawaz Shairf’s daughter.

The medical team of PIMS hospital was deployed at Sihala rest house well before Maraym’s movement from Adiala jail, which later left the premises of the rest house upon getting the information of delay in convict’s transfer.

A day earlier, authorities were preparing to move Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz to Islamabad’s Sihala rest house from Adiala prison where she is serving a seven-year jail term.

According to sources, district administration was preparing to move the PML-N leader to Sihala Police Rest House which was declared a sub-jail.

Maryam Nawaz was arrested on July 13 along with her father, the PML-N supreme leader Mian Nawaz Sharif when the duo returned to the country. The arrest was in compliance with July 6 court order against Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (retired) Safdar.

A notification was issued soon after her arrest to move the PML-N female leader to Sihala rest house and the rest house was declared sub-jail.
