LAHORE: Congratulating the party workers over the probable victory in by-elections in NA-120 Lahore, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said masses had repudiated the court ruling of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification.

“People of Lahore have announced a decision over the decision. You have again shown your trust in the leadership of the PML-N. You have proved today that you love Nawaz Sharif,” she said addressing the party workers in Lahore.

The voters not only rejected the court verdict but also rejected spokesmen of the court, she said adding that the voters contested even those who were invisible.

“The PML-N stood alone against those attacking the former prime minister,” she said.

NA-120 seat had fallen vacant after Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification as a premiere by the Supreme Court on July 28.

The PML-N leader alleged that many of her party workers were kidnapped from their houses and several others were threatened on phone.

“Some of the PML-N voters were told that they did not have their vote,” she maintained.
