LAHORE: Leader of banned outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa Maulana Abdul Rehman Makki has been arrested over hate speech, citing sources, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

As per details, the JuD leader was arrested during the crackdown against outlawed organisations.

He is accused of hate speech in Gujrat against the crackdown launched by the federal government against the proscribed  organisations.

Makki has been arrested under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Act.

Earlier on, April 12, Pakistan launched guidelines for the implementation of UNSC 1267 Sanctions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

On May 11, the interior ministry, in pursuance of the National Action Plan (NAP), had placed 11 more entities on the list of proscribed outfits over their alleged affiliation with Jamatud Dawah, Falah-e-Insaniyat and Jaish-e-Muhammad.

The new additions to the list of banned outfits include Al Anfal Trust, Lahore; Idara e Khidmat Khalaq, Lahore; Al Dawat ul Irshad, Lahore; Al Hamd Trust, Lahore/Faisalabad; Al Fazal Foundation/Trust Lahore;  Mosque and Welfare Trust, Lahore; Al Madinah Foundation, Lahore; Muaz bin Jabal Education Trust, Lahore; Al Eesar Foundation, Lahore; Al Rehmat Trust Organization, Bahawalpur; and Al Furqan Trust, Karachi.

Sources had said that the government decided to accelerate implementation on NAP in the wake of current wave of terrorism in the country.
