MUMBAI: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was in the news of late for her recent release ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and some controversies surrounding her shots with Ranbir Kapoor. But after a brief disappearance from the screen, the actress is back in light again.
Ms Rai is all set to walk the Cannes red carpet on the 19th and 20th of this month. Ahead of it, the actor has posed for a series of pictures. The 43-year-old looks mesmerizing as she poses for the camera wearing a baby pink dress.
In another picture, she is wearing a grey sequined gown spiced up with fuchsia lips.
This will be Aishwarya’s 15 years on the Cannes red carpet. Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will also be walking on the Cannes red carpet. While Deepika made her Cannes debut 10 years ago, this will be for the first time that she will be walking as the official brand ambassador for L’Oreal.
While the 43-year-old Aishwarya has been walking the red carpet for more than 15 years with this year being no exception, it will be the first time that Deepika will be seen walking the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival. And after being trolled for her attire at the recently held Met Gala 2017, many eyes will be set on the Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani star and her dress. Though for Deepika it doesn’t matter what people think of her clothes as she wears whatever makes her feel comfortable.
In August last year, Aishwarya was drawn into a controversy for some scenes in the ADHM with Ranbir Kapoor. Media reports claimed that Bachchan family wanted those scenes to be chopped off from the movie.
Indian media citing its sources reported that even the family had approached Karan Johar to remove the scene before the film releases.
The scene from ADHM will show Aishwarya Rai and Ranbir Kapoor licking chocolate off each other’s body while other reports said it could not be officially verified whether Bachchan family actually objected to the scene as the latter also been in the profession for decades.
However Karan Johar carried it off by shooting a fake kiss between the two actors and got away with it. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, also starred Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan, Lisa Haydon, Imran Naqvi and Sunny Leone in cameo roles.
