Cleanliness drive: MQM vows to clean garbage and other “dirt” from Karachi

Senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar made this announcement at a press conference here.

“The campaign could continue up to 30 days or more, depending on its completion”. He said the cleanliness drive would start simultaneously in all six districts of Karachi.

“We will dispose of dump to its final destination”, said Sattar during a presser.

The MQM leader said they were extending invitation to PTI, ANP, JI and other parties to take part in ‘We Own Karachi’ drive.

He said garbage would be dumped at all disposal points outside the city. He said Karachi would be rid of trash and “evils” as well.

MQM has also maintained huge data of citizens and will issue an email to 5,00,000 people including journalists, social workers, civil society, etc to apprise them of the campaign and seek their cooperation, he added.

The MQM leader said he hoped that other institutions in Karachi will also come forward to do social service.

He said plantation is also a part of the MQM’s campaign that is going to start soon. Under our campaign, we will also remove graffiti from walls of the city, said Sattar.
