Properties worth Rs1.25billion handed over to Balochistan govt in province’s biggest corruption recovery

QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal on Wednesday handed over keys of properties worth Rs1.25billion recovered from former finance secretary Balochistan Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani to the Balochistan government, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, the NAB chief handed over the keys of properties to caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alauddin Marri in an event in the NAB Balochistan office.

The properties, including two commercial plazas, three houses of minimum 500 square yards each and six valuable residential plots were situated in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and purchased for Rs 1.25 billion.

Back in May, 2016, a NAB team had raided former finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani’s residence recovering millions of rupees in cash.

According to anti-graft authority, Raisani had surrendered Rs 653.2million in cash and 3.3 kilogram gold worth Rs 13.5 million.

Raisani had also surrendered two luxury cars, including a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Grande, worth approximately Rs8million.
