NA-246 by-poll: Two arrested for vote rigging

According to ARY News anchorperson Arshad Sharif, the presiding officer Syed Majeed Ali at Delhi College in Karimabad was caught red-handed for letting fake votes polled in favour of the PTI.

Spokesperson of the paramilitary force confirmed the arrest of two persons involved in vote rigging at a polling station in Karimabad. One is Syed Majeed Ali (presiding officer) and another is Rehan Ahmed. The latter is sentenced to six months in prison with Rs5,000 fine.

Similarly, Majeed is sentenced to three-month in prison with Rs 5,000 fine.

Rangers awarded punishment to both the accused for having powers of a special magistrate.

Officials said it was still to be ascertained about political affiliation of the arrested man.
