NAB conducts hours-long search at Durrani’s residence

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) conducted a six-hour search at the residence of Sindh Assembly speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

According to sources, five female members of the Durrani family were questioned in presence of female officers of NAB. Signatures were also taken from female members after their statements were recorded.

The documents seized by NAB included files for plots and other properties.

Seized laptops also contained some information including those of foreign currency accounts, said the sources.

Meanwhile, a medical check-up of Durrani was also carried out at NAB headquarters in Islamabad. Durrani will be produced before the NAB court on Thursday.

NAB spokesperson said they had search warrants for Durrani’s residence. We also have female police officers with us, he added.

He confirmed that a few documents and laptop was found from his residence.

Other suspects in the case included Kosar Shah Durrani, Naheed Durrani, Sanam Durrani, Zeeshan Shaukat, Sonia Durrani and Agha Shehbaz, Samil Malik, Kamil Malik, Shahana Durrani and Sara Durrani.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Durrani was nabbed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) earlier ion the day in a case pertaining to assets beyond known sources of income.

As per details, officials of NAB’s Karachi division arrested the PPP senior leader from the federal capital.
