NAB grills PTI leader Aleem Khan over offshore company

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials on Thursday questioned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan in connection with an inquiry pertaining to his offshore company.

The PTI leader appeared before the anti-corruption watchdog investigators at NAB Lahore office along with the details of his offshore company.

Aleem Khan was among the persons listed in the Panama Papers leak and subsequently a probe was launched against him.

He appeared before the NAB investigation committee last month, where he was asked to present details of his offshore company.

According to the anti-graft watchdog, Aleem is the sole owner of Hexam Investment Overseas Limited, an offshore company.

He denounced the investigation against him and claimed that his company was not named in the Panama Papers leaks.

“I have submitted all relevant documents to the NAB,” the PTI leader said after a questioning session.

The PTI leader has remain under the focus of the accountability bureau, as besides an investigation into his offshore company, the NAB is also probing into Aleem Khan’s properties in Lahore.

The anti-graft body has also sought details of his properties from Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
