NAB summons PML-N’s Rana Afzal Khan in Sahil hospital case

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau on Thursday summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former minister of state for finance Rana Afzal Khan for an inquiry into Sahil Hospital case.

Mr Afzal has been asked by the anti-graft watchdog body’s Lahore chapter to appear before it today at 3pm.

Rana Afzal Khan has been once director of the hospital and he is called in that capacity.

Former minister of state for finance has been asked to bring details of sources of income, expenditures, annual audit report and other necessary details of the hospital along with him.

He has served as Minister of State for Finance and Economic Affairs in the Abbasi cabinet from December 2017 to May 2018.

Rana Azfal Khan had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from June 2013 to May 2018.

Previously, he remained a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from 1997 to 1999 and again from 2008 to 2013.

It may be noted that several Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leaders including, Shehbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Asif, Hamza Shehbaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Ameer Muqam and others are facing corruption charges and appearing before the anti-graft watchdog body in this regard.
