GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that he not sure about disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif, but rather Khawaja Asif will go to jail.

Addressing a gathering near Wazirabad, the PTI chairman said the foreign minister was employed at a firm in the UAE where he receive remuneration worth 1.6 million rupees.

Imran Khan said that the verdict by Supreme Court which declared that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for life was expected like any other country. He said holders of public office are answerable to the public for their personal assets.

He said that Nawaz Sharif had no defence except for a bogus Qatari letter, looted billions from the nation, setup companies in his son’s name claiming he is not answerable due to foreign nationality, and then claimed that he own no properties.

He said that both Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif were responsible for looting public money since the last three decades, and their battle is against the money launderers including Asif Zardari.

In response to a question, he said that it the incomprehensible that the incumbent government could present the next budget with less than 45 days remaining. He suggested that the budget should be formed by the next government.

He said that Jehangir Tareen, unlike Nawaz Sharif, had accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court despite his reservations.

He announced that the PTI will hold a massive political gathering in Lahore on April 29 in Lahore, where it will announce the manifesto for the next elections.
