Newly sworn in caretaker cabinet gets down to business

ISLAMABAD: A six-member caretaker federal cabinet was sworn on Tuesday in at a ceremony held at the President House where President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath. 

The cabinet division issued a notification allotting portfolios to the newly sworn in caretaker cabinet members.

Abdullah Hussain Haroon has been assigned the portfolio of Foreign Affairs and National Security Division. Besides, additional charge of the ministries of Defence and Defense Production has also been entrusted to him.

Ms. Shamshad Akhtar has been made minister for Finance, Statistics, and Planning and Development along with additional charge of the Ministry of commerce and Industries and production has also been given to her.

Muhammad Azam Khan has been given the portfolio of ministries of Interior, Capital Administration Development Division and Narcotics. Additional Charge of Inter-provincial Coordination has also been given to him.

Syed Ali Zafar has been assigned the portfolio of Ministry of Law and Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Information and Broadcasting.

Muhammad Yousaf Sheikh has been given the ministries of Health, Education and Religious Affairs.

Mrs Roshan Khurshid has been assigned the portfolios of human rights, SAFRON and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs.

Later in the day, caretaker interior minister Muhammad Azam Khan chaired an introductory meeting in which he was briefed on the matters pertaining to his ministry.
