Now you can go Live on Twitter
Twitter has unveiled the ability to go Live on its app, the company said in a blog spot on Wednesday.
Just like Facebook, live videos are real-time video posts from public figures or your friends. Twitter said that it is making it easier to broadcast live video straight from Twitter.
It said that Live video is the most immerse way to experience what is happening around the world, whether it is protests or monumental monuments or just things which make us laugh out loud.
These direct engagements are not new to Twitter as it brought Periscope last year but the two apps were never integrated. However, now you go broadcast live videos without Periscope.
Therefore, now you can also create and Tweet live video from the Twitter app. To go live, compose a Tweet, then tap “LIVE” which brings you to pre-broadcast screen where you can frame your shot.
Then just press “Go Live” to start broadcasting.
When you are live, anyone on Twitter and Periscope can join your live video and participate in your experience.
If you are watching a live video, then comment and send hearts by tapping the screen. Hearts show your support for the broadcaster.
“Live video brings moments and events to life in a way that no other medium can,” said the company.
The update is rolling out to everyone on Twitter for iOS and Android over the coming days.
