ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has said that US President Donald Trump’s decision of imposing a travel ban on seven countries will send a negative message in the Muslim world, ARY News reported.
He was addressing at National Defence University on Thursday.
“Only terrorists would benefit from Trump’s decision,” interior minister said. “Actually, it is the Muslims which have mostly remain on the receiving end. If some people have gone wrong, not all Muslims should be blamed for their actions,” Nisar said.
He said that all bearded men and hijab-donning women should not be considered terrorists.
He said that the context of security has been different in the West and South Asia but it doesn’t mean that the borders should be closed.
The interior minister said that dialogue is the basis to seek resolution of all issues.
The interior minister stated that the politics should not be mixed with security matters of a country. “There is a tendency of intertwining security with politics in the region,” he added.
He stated that Pakistan has shown flexibility for the peace in the region.
