Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad: Four terrorists killed, over 600 suspects arrested in Punjab
RAWALPINDI: Four terrorists were killed in exchange of fire with personnels of Punjab Rangers on Saturday while over 600 suspects including few Afghans apprehended as Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad continues, ARY News reported.
Punjab Rangers conducted over 200 search operations in various areas of Punjab including Karor, Layyah and Rawalpindi. Suspected houses, Madrassas and shops were also searched during the operations.
Few facilitators of Jamat ul Ahrar (JuA) were arrested and Jihadi material and weapons recovered from their possession.
Pakistan Army on Wednesday (22nd Feb) launched a new counter-terror operation named ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ (رَدُّالفَسَاد) across the country.
The operation aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.
Separately, 78 suspects were arrested during search operations in different areas of Peshawar and Charsadda.
Almost 58 suspects were apprehended in different areas of Peshawar alone, while 20 suspects, including five proclaimed offenders, were busted in Serdehri area of district Charsadda. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them, Radio Pakistan reported.
The combing and mopping up operation against terrorists and suspects having links with terror activities continues across the country.
Levies force has arrested 47 Afghan nationals near Pak-Afghan border in Nokundi over residing in the area without legal traveling documents.
