ISLAMABAD: A Member National Assembly-elect became an overnight sensation after it transpired that he is a former tea-seller, but all hype around his flash fame died away when he reportedly turned out to be a millionaire.

Gul Zafar Khan, a PTI MNA-elect, who  hails from Bajaur had declared assets worth millions of rupees in his nomination papers submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Khan won from NA-41 Bajaur by defeating former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Akhunzada Chatan, as well as, independent candidate Shahabuddin Khan.

It is reported that Khan declared Rs3 million and immovable property worth Rs10 million. He also owns two houses worth Rs 2 million and agricultural land. Zafar Khan also registered increase in his wealth last year.

His assets declaration also mentions a non-custom paid vehicle and 10 tola gold. According to documents, the MNA-elect is associated with garments business.

Reports further say he has Rs two million in his bank account and he owns household items worth Rs 10,00,000.
