Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said in a statement responding to the speech of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s speech in Afghanistan parliament .

Zakaria said that Pakistan condemns all forms and manifestation of terrorism and is committed in the fight against the menace. He said Pakistan has rejected that it differentiates between terrorist groups.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan itself is the victim of terrorism in which thousands of security personnel have sacrificed their lives.

He said Pakistan is making serious efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan and hosted the first round of direct talks between Afghan government and Taliban. He, however emphasized that it is not sole responsibility of Pakistan to bring the Taliban back to the table for Afghan peace talks.

Spokesman said the Quadrilateral Coordination Group, which comprises of Pakistan, Afghanistan, United States and China, was formed to achieve the objective of peace and stability in Afghanistan. He stressed the peace in the neighbouring country is in the best interest of Pakistan.
