Pakistan inked participation contract with UAE for Expo 2020

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has inked a participation contract with the EXPO-2020 on Sunday, according to the authorities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abu Dhabi.

This Expo 2020 contract was signed by Moazzam Ahmed Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to UAE, in his competence as EXPO 2020 Commissioner-General, and Sultan Al Shamsi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Assistant Minister.

The signing ceremony of the contract was observed by Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and EXPO 2020 Director General, and Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production and Investment,

Due to the official signing of this contract, the activities projected includes creation of Pakistan Pavilion in EXPO 2020, built on a large-sized plot in the Opportunity District.

According to details, this Pakistan pavilion will be based on the theme of ‘Emerging Pakistan’, which will eventually symbolize all the provinces and their importance.

On this instance, Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production and Investment said, “Pakistan shares deep relations with UAE and we are looking forward to make Pakistan’s participation mainly significant which shall be in line with the EXPO 2020 theme, that is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

Furthermore, he also added that Expo 2020 is not only important for UAE, but it is a description of the whole region.

He also said, “We have initiated the designing of the Pakistan Pavilion, which will imitate the true prospective of Pakistan. The Prime Minister has composed a high level committee, consisting representatives from private and public sector stakeholders for efficient contribution.”

The advisor also mentioned that the PM Imran Khan’s previous month visit to UAE and his meeting with Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan positioned the mutual relationship of both the countries on a new track, as from both the sides it is settled that this special relationship shall soon be converted into a strategic partnership.
