Pakistan offers France investment opportunities in diverse fields

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Makhdum khusro Bakhtyar on Thursday invited French businessmen investment opportunities in diverse fields in the country.  

Talking to French ambassador to Pakistan Marc Barety who along with Country Director of Agence Française de Développement Jacky Amprou, called on him in Islamabad, khusro Bakhtyar highlighted the investment friendly climate and policies in the country.

He said Pakistan offers attractive investment incentives and France may consider exploring more avenues for investment to the mutual benefit of two countries.

Bakhtyar declared France an important development partner of Pakistan and lauded the contributions of French Development Agency (FDA) in the country.

The minister said that France had expertise in solar energy production and may look to finance projects in this sector in view of huge potential that the country offers.

 Bakhtyar called for bilateral cooperation to boost tourism sector in Pakistan as well as in up-gradation of transmission system.

The French ambassador said that AFD was willing to expend the scope of its cooperation in the country and added the his county was financing in different projects including hydropower, urban management and restoration of heritage sites.

Foreign minister seeks economic diplomacy to bring investment in Pakistan

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi. on November 21, had said in pursuance of economic diplomacy, the Foreign Office would extend its full cooperation with every ministry to bring investment and generate employment opportunities in Pakistan.

Addressing Pakistani community in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he emphasised the need for economic diplomacy saying we have to invite the Pakistanis to come and invest in their country.
