ASHGABAT: President Mamnoon Hussain has called for launching of joint oil and gas projects between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

He was talking to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat on Saturday.

The president called for augmenting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, energy, agriculture and education. Mamnoon Hussain said both the countries should also boost bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and infrastructure.

In October, PM Abbasi had “emphasized countrie’s solid sense of duty regarding the early operationalisation of the Tapi gas pipeline venture as it holds a colossal potential for meeting nation vitality needs”. He was conversing with Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atadjan Nurlyevich Movlamov who paid a graciousness call at the PM Office.

Pakistan is committed to long-term economic goals which guarantee stability in the region. He wished Afghanistan success for its economic projects and said security in Afghanistan is security in Pakistan.
