Pakistan’s MMA fighter Uloomi Karim defeats Indian Yadwinder Singh

MANILLA: Pakistan’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Uloomi Karim Shaheen beat India’s Yadwinder Singh in a World Series of Fighting Global Championship (WSOF-GC) match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 25-year-old dominated the fight from start to finish to earn a unanimous 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 win over the Indian fighter. This was the first defeat for him.


Uloomi, who hails from Gilgit-Baltistan, fights and trains under the banner of Fortress Stadium Islamabad.

He is currently one of the top MMA fighter in the country and also holds the Bantam Weight Championship Belt of Under Ground Battle (UGB). Ahtesham Karim, Uloomi’s elder brother, who runs the Fight Fortress Club in Islamabad expressed his delight on Uloomi’s success and hoped he will carry on the winning streak . mma2 Another MMA fighter from Pakistan, Ahmed Mujtaba was also successful at Manila as he beat Philippines’ Neil Laranow in the first round via a Triangle Choke  in just 1 min and 8 seconds. Uloomi and Mujtaba are competing in global MMA competitions since the last five years.
