ISLAMABAD: President of Palestine Mahmud Abbas on Thursday called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and expressed grief over the heavy loss of precious lives and injuries in the oil tanker fire incident in Bahawalpur.
PM Sharif said that the Bahawalpur incident was a very tragic accident that occurred on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and the entire nation was struck with grief.
He thanked the Palestinian President for his concern and sympathy, and apprised that the government has taken all possible measures to help the victims.
Both leaders also exchanged greetings on the festive occasion of Eid. PM Sharif expressed good wishes on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan for Palestine.
The prime minister said that Pakistan has always supported the just cause of Palestine’s freedom, and will continue to provide moral and diplomatic support to the brotherly people of Palestine in their struggle.
