Parliamentarians Assets: Nawaz, the richest lawmaker of Pakistan, Imran trailing at second

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday released details of the parliamentarians’ assets and liabilities with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the top of the list of the wealthiest parliamentarians of the year, ARY News reported.

According to list of assets and liabilities issued by the ECP, the premier is the richest parliamentarian with the total assets of Rs1.74billion which included  his private residence, Jati Umra, worth Rs400 million, furniture  Rs1.7 million, animals Rs400 million, and ornaments 1.5 million.

PM’s elder son Hussain Nawaz had given him Rs234.2 million as a gift, whereas the premier had declared not having any foreign asset.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan is following the prime minister with assets and liabilities of Rs1.40 billion. His Bani Gala residence is worth Rs750 million, which he had got as gift from his ex-wife Jemima. Whereas, his Zaman Park residence in Lahore was valued at Rs297.1 million.

Hamza Shahbaz declared assets of Rs350 million while Captin Safdar owned the assets of Rs10 million including his wife Mariam Nawaz’s vehicle valued at Rs60 million, which she had received as a gift from the United Arab Emirates.

The assets of Awami Muslim League’s Shaikh Rashid are worth RS47.5 million whereas Maulana Fazul Rehman owned the property of Rs6.4million, the details of the assets disclosed.
