NOWSHERA: In a horrific incident, Pashto singer and stage actress Resham Khan was gunned down allegedly by her husband on Wednesday.
The incident occurred within the remits of Nowshera Kalan police station here.
According to police, Resham’s family has nominated her husband Fayda Khan in the first information report (FIR). The actress’s brother Obaidullah who resides in Charsadda and presently living in Hakimabad lodged the FIR.
Obaidullah said that Resham’s husband had recently returned to the country and convinced his wife to visit his ailing father. He said that he went to Resham’s house when she didn’t return after some time and found her murdered. The suspect fled after the murder.
The body of the deceased lady was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Besides several popular songs to her credit in Pashto, Resham Khan had played role of university student in a long-running drama serial “Zhobal Goluna”. Reports say she was not only popular in Pakistan but also in other countries because of her performance abroad.
After filing of the FIR, police have begun investigation into the murder case.
