People rejected negative propaganda against MQM: Altaf

Speaking to party workers and supporters in Jinnah Ground after party’s good show in NA-246 by-polls, Hussain said that God made us victorious despite the use of cheap tactics by opponents.

“I have no words to thank you all”, Altaf told a mammoth crowd.

MQM chief opined that people rejected even media trial and baseless allegations against MQM adding that the by-election result proved that MQM supporters are not to be threatened by state terrorism.

He alleged that an atmosphere of fear was created during the by-election process, polling stations were changed but MQM’s women workers still did not lose courage.

MQM supremo said that detractors can only force people to stop chanting the name of Altaf Hussain but cannot take Altaf Hussain out of their hearts.

“People have proved today that they have rejected the minus one formula neither today nor tomorrow”, said Altaf.

Hussain directed party workers to respect the sentiments of rival party workers and do not use such language which might hurt them.

On this occasion, MQM’s winning candidate Kunwar Naveed Jamil thanked MQM chief Altaf Hussain for trusting him in this important constituency.

The NA-246 constituency of Karachi witnessed a by-poll on Thursday as the seat fell vacant after Nabil Gabol who was elected on the ticket of MQM in the 2013 general elections resigned from his seat after developing differences with the party.

MQM candidate emerged victorious in the election (according to unofficial results) which saw a number of candidates participating with the most notable contestants being PTI’s Imran Ismail and JI’s Rashid Nasim.
