NOWSHERA: Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said that people of the country have found true leadership in shape of Prime Minister Imran Khan after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

‘The mission of PTI is to lead country towards self sustainability and achieve a respectable position for the country among comity of nations,’ the state-run wire service quoted him as saying while speaking to a delegation of ulema.

Khattak said all the decisions related to religious seminaries would be made in consultation with administration of Wafaq-ul-Madaris and Ulema belonging to all schools of thought.

He said that PTI government was not against seminaries but it is making concerted efforts to bring Madaris into national mainstream.

He stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan respected seminaries as they were bastions of Islam due to their role in preaching of Islam. He said that importance of seminaries couldn’t be undermined in our society adding according to rough estimate four to five million students are getting education in these Madaris.

The defence minister said that previous government of PTI facilitated religious seminaries to include them in national mainstream by establishing laboratories of science and computer in Madaris in the province and now Imran Khan wants to promote true image of the country and Islam in the world with the support of Ulema.

He said that certain elements are trying to create misconceptions among people for their political interests. He said that Imran Khan would foil conspiracies against seminaries and fulfill its promise of establishing a state like Madina Munawara.

“Our opponents have not accepted the accomplishments of PTI that focused resolution of basic problems of people during their tenure in KP”, he asserted. He said that government of PTI also gave attention to mosques and seminaries like given to schools, colleges and universities of KP.

Khattak said that PTI tirelessly worked to weed out social evils of usury, corruption and dowry besides taking steps to streamline curricula, announcing salaries of Pesh Imams and Islamic legislation with the consultation of Ulema, maintaining that all these accomplishments paved the way for PTI’s victory in general elections.

He said that the center point of PTI’s foreign policy is to establish relations with foreign countries on basis of equality.
