PIA aircraft grounded after Lahore-bound flight suffers from bird-hit
LAHORE: A Lahore-bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suffered serious damage after a bird hit near Lahore on Friday, ARY News reported.
The flight PK-760 was coming from Jeddah to Lahore. The Boeing 777 aircraft received considerable damage due to the bird hit.
Subsequently, the aircraft was grounded for maintenance.
Sources informed ARY News that the required spare parts for affected aircraft were being brought from Karachi to Lahore via PIA flight PK-304.
Due to the incident, the Jeddah-bound return flight PK-759 was delayed for several hours.
A PIA spokesperson informed this scribe that the flight to Jeddah would now take-off at midnight now.
It is worthwhile to note that in the last one week, several bird-hit incidents occurred in Karachi.
A Boeing 777 and two Airbus A320s of Pakistan International Airlines suffered from damages at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport due to the bird hit.
