PM approves promotions of above 20 bureaucrats to grade-22

ISLAMABAD: The high-powered promotion board meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved promotions of above 20 bureaucrats, purely on merit, from grade-21 to grade 22 on Monday.

According to the details, the high-powered board approved promotions of six officers from DMG group, two from police group, one from information group and 11 from foreign serves and others groups.

 Those who were promoted to grade 22 from DMG group included Imran Ahmed, Shafqatur Rehman Ranjha, Amir Ahmed, Muhammad khan, Sajid Yousifai and Tariq Najeeb. Whereas two officers, Naeem Khan and Hussain Asghar, from police group were also promoted to next grade.

Secretary Establishment Division, cabinet members and other officials were also present in the meeting.

Last month, addressing participants of 109th National Management Course from National School of Public Policy, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that government’s policy of de-politicization of institutions, meritocracy and transparency offered a great opportunity to bureaucracy to improve its performance and play its due role in translating political vision into reality.

PM Khan added that, being backbone of the state, bureaucracy has a huge responsibility to deliver and come up to the expectations of the nation.
