PM arrives in Saudi Arabia to attend US-Arab-Islamic Summit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reached Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit to attend US-Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh.

He was received by Governor of Riyadh and other Saudi Arabian high officials at King Salman airbase. Nawaz Sharif is attending the moot on the invitation of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

The prime minister will highlight Islam’s message of peace, tolerance and unity.

In addition to US President Donald Trump, fifty-five leaders of Islamic world as well as Secretary Generals of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Arab League and Gulf Cooperation Council will attend the summit.

The conference will provide an opportunity to the participating countries to discuss how to overcome the menace of terrorism and extremism across the world.

It is expected to delink ‘terrorism’ from any particular religion, culture, civilization or region.

Nawaz Sharif will also join the world leaders to attend the inauguration ceremony of the World Center Against Extremism, a counter-radicalization initiative by Saudi Arabia.

Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz is also accompanying the Prime Minister.
