Govt to announce national policy on poverty alleviation on Nov 25

ISLAMABAD: Another commendable initiative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government as Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to announce the national policy on poverty alleviation on November 25. 

According to details, the concerned authorities have started preparation on emergency basis as PM Khan is due to announce the measures to curb poverty after three days.

The poverty reduction models of Malaysia and China will be considered while drafting a policy for Pakistan, sources said.

The awaited policy will be first implemented in under privileged areas of the country and the stipend under Benazir Income Support Program is also likely to be increased, sources added.

In its first 100 days of governance, PTI government has taken a number of steps, wherein few notable measures include austerity drive, 5-year plan for polio eradication, plantation and cleanliness campaigns, clean and green Pakistan and ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Programme’.

Imran had unveiled his 100-day plan two months before the general elections on May 21.

The PTI-led government had recently launched a website for the public to trace the progress of the PTI’s 100 Day Agenda.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry lately informed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will present the 100-day progress report of his government before the nation on November 29.
