PM Imran directs to prepare report on development of Karachi: Sindh governor

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail on Monday said Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed to prepare a comprehensive report on development and prosperity of Karachi, ARY News reported.

“PM Imran will soon visit Karachi and give crucial directions on development projects,” he said adding that “water supply, stormwater drainage system and cleanliness are the pressing issues facing the city.”

He said this in a meeting with Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter. They discussed ongoing development projects and issues of local government in the megapolis.

Imran Ismail said it was responsibility of everyone to work for development and prosperity of the city. He said the premier was interested in development of the biggest city of the country and provision of state-of-the-art facilities was the government’s top priority.

The Sindh governor said taking measures to resolve issues of Karachi was need of the hour and the federal government would fully cooperate in this regard.

“The people of Sindh pin great hopes to the incumbent government and the federal government will live up to expectations of the people, come what may,” he said.

Waseem Akhter said cooperation of the centre in resolving issues of Karachi was inevitable.
