ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday extended his wishes to the Hindu community on the festival of Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colours.”

“Wishing our Hindu community a very happy and peaceful Holi, the festival of colours,” tweeted the prime minister.

The Hindu citizens living across the country are celebrating the festival with traditional enthusiasm.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted, “Happy Holi to all my Hindu brothers & sisters. On the happy occasion of Holi, let us spread the wonderful massage of peace and happiness.”

Earlier, on March 10, Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) had decided to dedicate this year’s Holi festival to Pakistan.

It announced to hold a colorful mega event on March 20 (today) at the Shri Panchumukhi Hanuman Temple, Soldier Bazar, Karachi in connection with Holi festival and Pakistan Day.

Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, who is also patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council, said that patriotic Pakistani Hindu community has decided to celebrate the Holi in a different way. The festival will acknowledge the achievements of the founder of the nation and our elders to organise historic Lahore meeting on March 23, 1940 to pass Pakistan Resolution.
