ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that his government is not afraid of media criticism as it helps the government evaluate and improve governance, ARY News reported.

Speaking to a group of senior journalists in the federal capital, the PM maintained that media is free to criticize all policies and measures the new government takes, adding that it helps government resolve outstanding issues.

He, however, added that the media should at least give the PTI-led setup at provincial and federal level  three months time to improve the level of governance.

About the newly-elected Chief Minister Punjab, he said that Usman Buzdar is a “courageous man” and if given time, can prove that he was the right man to run the most populous province of the country.

Answering a question about using a helicopter to commute between PM Office and his residence, the PM maintained that he uses the chopper for he doesn’t want to cause inconvenience to common people.

About his plans for foreign visits, the premier said that he will stay in the country to focus on state policy and improving the standard of governance at least for a year before embarking on foreign visits.

Sources say that during the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron telephoned PM Imran Khan but he didn’t take the call and said “I am busy here, ask him to call in 30 minutes.”
