PM Imran reviews progress of Kartarpur Corridor work

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting, reviewing construction of Kartarpur corridor and development works on Swat Motorway, ARY News reported.

During the meeting, PM Khan expressed satisfaction on the uplift works and ordered officials concerned to complete the projects in time.

The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Minister Murad Saeed, Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and PM’s adviser Zulfi Bukhari.

The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan Army also attended the meeting.

On March 7, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed to complete Kartapur Corridor’s construction work  within the time frame given by the government.

The premier had directed the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) to ensure completion of standard work on the Pakistani side of the border timely.

Sources privy to the development said the construction work on first phase of Kartarpur Corridor Project was completed upto 45 percent by the end of February.

PM Khan had laid the foundation stone of Kartarpur Corridor to link Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with India’s Gurdaspur district, on Nov 28, 2018.

Former Indian cricketer and member of Punjab cabinet Navjot Singh Sidhu and other Indian ministers were also present at the occasion.
