PM Imran to leave for Malaysia today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave for Malaysia today (Tuesday) on a two-day official visit, ARY News reported. 

During his visit, PM Khan will call on his Malaysian counterpart Mahatir Mohamad.

The prime minister will focus on the promotion of economic cooperation between the two sides during the meeting, according to officials. A high-level delegation comprising Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Adviser to PM Abdul Razzaq Dawood will accompany Mr. Khan during his trip.

As per sources, PM Khan is likely to receive a briefing on Malaysia’s model for fastest development. Moreover, discussion will be held how Pakistan can benefit from the experiences and exposure of Malaysia during its journey towards economic prosperity.

PM Khan was previously scheduled to fly to Malaysia on October 28 but the trip delayed due to busy schedule of the premier

Mr. Khan recently visited countries like China, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

It is pertinent to mention here that PM Imran, in a recent telephone conversation with his Malaysian counterpart, appreciated the initiatives taken by Kuala Lumpur to ameliorate the economic scenario of the Southeast Asian country.

Imran Khan had also highlighted the need of delegations exchanges between the two countries and collaboration at an operational level to benefit from each other’s expertise.

Further, Imran Khan had invited the Malaysian prime minister to visit Pakistan. Prime Minister Mahathir had accepted and reciprocated the invitation to him for an early visit to Malaysia.
