The former premier was talking to media at Multan Airport on Tuesday. He said that there was no need for PM Sharif to address the nation over Panama Papers.

“Panama Leaks were no rocket science. PM Sharif’s advisers are not giving him correct advice on how to handle the situation,” Gillani said. “If I was in power, I would have consulted with all the heads of the parliamentary parties on how to deal with the situation,” he added.

“The mistake committed by PM Nawaz was that he did not consult other parties and wrote the letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali to form a judicial commission to probe the allegations mentioned in the Panama Leaks against him and his family members,” Gillani said.

The PPP leader went on to say that all political parties want a judicial commission whose Terms of Reference (TORs) could have been decided with the consultation of the opposition.

Gillani urged that the Chhotu Gang should be completely wiped off. He went on to say that several people will be exposed with the arrest of Ghulam Rasool alias Chotu just like in the case of Lyari gangster Uzair Jan Baloch.

Expressing sadness over the Layyah incident, he said that lots of lives could have been saved if the victims were shifted to big hospitals for timely medical attendance.
