PM Imran orders probe into Hindu girls abduction
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday directed Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to immediately look into reports that two Hindu girls abducted from Ghotki district have been moved to Rahim Yar Khan after their forced conversion and underage marriages.
The prime minister called for early recovery of the abducted girls given that these reports are true, according to Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry.
The minister in a tweet this morning said PM Khan directed the Sindh and Punjab governments to devise a joint strategy to take concrete steps so that such happenings could be prevented in future. He said white colour in the national flag represents the minority communities residing in Pakistan. “We love all our colors. Protection of the national flag is our duty.”

Earlier, Chaudhry had said the government had taken notice of reports of the alleged forced conversion and underage marriages of two teenage girls in Ghotki.
In videos circulating on social media, the father and brother of the girls said that the two sisters were kidnapped and forcefully converted to Islam from Hinduism.
Lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir had also shared a video clip reportedly of the two sisters on his Twitter account and wrote: “#Reena 14 & #Raveena 16 claiming they will fully accepted Islam. This can’t be an excuse for Police. Cant ignore both girl are underage, were illegally married after conversion & both could be under immense pressure.”
He shared a copy of a first information report dated March 20 registered by the girls’ family against their alleged forced conversion to Islam.
The two sisters had gone missing from Hafiz Salman village near Deharki few days back. Later, a video clip surfaced in which they can be heard saying that neither has anyone abducted them nor held them hostage as they left their home out of their own will and embraced Islam without any duress.
