LAHORE: Punjab police claimed to have arrested a man having close resemblance with the murder suspect seen with Zainab in the CCTV footage from Bhatta Chowk here, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
According to police, the man has close resemblance with the suspect seen in the footage.
Police officials said the detained man will undergo a DNA profiling, after which the test results would be matched with samples collected from the body of slain minor rape victim.
The man has been handed over to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for an interrogation.
Moreover, police also claimed that the mobile phone of the arrested man indicated location of Kasur city.
The grisly incident shattered the entire nation, triggering widespread public outrage with people from all walks of life demanding an exemplary punishment for the culprit.
