Police held 23 suspects during overnight raids in Karachi
KARACHI: Police arrested 23 suspects including three proclaimed offenders during overnight raids in various areas of the metropolis, police sources said.
According to police, three proclaimed offenders were taken into custody during a raid in Saudabad area. Weapons and contraband stuff have been recovered from their possession.
The arrested suspects were involved in various street crimes, police claimed.
In another raid, police detained five suspected criminals in Sultanabad area of the city. Superintendent of Police (SP) Orangi Abid Baloch said that 15 other people were held on suspicion of involvement in criminal activities who are being interrogated.
Suspect killed in encounter with CTD
Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) gunned down a suspected criminal in an alleged encounter near Bagh-e-Korangi.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Munir Shaikh said that the suspect was arrested in an injured condition who later succumbed to his injuries during treatment while his accomplice managed to flee from the spot after exchange of fire.
However, no further details pertaining to his identification were shared.
CCTV footage of robbery
