KARACHI: Police have compiled an initial investigation report after a series of knife attacks on girls in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to sources within the law enforcement agency, the report compiled with the help of doctors states that the attacker did not want to kill the victims. The attacker attacked five girls using his left hand and only one was attacked using right hand.

The police report also says that the attacks were actually carried out by paper cutter not a knife or a dagger.

At least six such attacks were carried out on girls in the current week in the area. In almost all such incidents, a biker attacked women with a sharp object leaving them severely injured.

Earlier SP Gulshan told ARY News that most of the victims were not cooperating with the police but police took them into confidence to carry out the investigation.

The police officer was of the view that the attacker might be mentally disturbed or challenged person.

Psychologist Doctor Wajahat told ARY News that boys using drugs or looking for thrill might be behind such incidents.
