Dr Kaleem Imam had directed all the relevant authorities and departments to launch a seven-day drive in this regard, starting on March 20.

“It has been observed with great concern that there are number of vehicles witnessed with fictitious Sindh Police number plates plying on the roads particularly in Karachi.

“It is believed that these vehicles are left unchecked and considered unsuspicious by the police units, patrolling within their respective limits,” read the letter issued by the operations AIG police.

The AIG had said such ignorance provided opportunity for the criminals to easily roam around for their ulterior motives. The issue required appropriate attention and immediate measures to curb the tendency of such violation, he had added.
