Police recover kidnapped girl in Karachi, abductor escapes
KARACHI: Police recovered an eight-year kidnapped girl from New Gulshan area of Karachi while the kidnapper fled from the scene, a police officer said on Friday.
According to ARY News, SSP Karachi West Shaukat Khatian told media that the SITE B area police recovered eight-year old Ayisha in a targeted operation from New Gulshan Labour Square.
Ayisha was kidnapped from outside her home on April 22 at 8:00 pm, SSP West said.
An FIR of the case was registered under the clause of kidnapping, he said.
A police team led by SHO Zawar Hussain of SITE B area police station recovered the girl, he said.
Police conducted scores of combing operations for recovery of the child and during the process while narrowing down its search area it reach to the target, but the accused fled from the spot leaving the child behind, the SSP said.
A CCTV footage shown the girl accompanied with the kidnapper.
The investigators were of the opinion that the girl would most likely knew the person who kidnapped her.
The accused involved in the crime will be arrested soon, SSP West asserted.
Police in December last year recovered a seven-year-old abducted boy and detained his kidnapper during a raid in Malir, Karachi.
Talking to journalists, Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur said that police, on a tip-off, conducted raid at a house in the area and recovered the abducted child and took the alleged kidnapper into custody.
He said the suspect, Murad, revealed in the custody that he sold out the children for Rs10,000 to 15,000 each, to a gang involved in child kidnapping.
