Police register FIR of Chinese Consulate attack in Karachi

KARACHI: The police on Saturday registered a first information report (FIR) of the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi that left at least two policemen dead, ARY News reported.

The state is complainant in the FIR lodged by the police at Counter Terrorism Department police station in Karachi. The complaint also mentions names of 13 facilitators of the attack.

According to text of the FIR, police had killed all three terrorists during an exchange of fire at the consulate’s entrance gate.

Earlier in the day, police arrested two facilitators involved in the attack. One was arrested from Karachi while the other was taken into custody from Shahdadpur.

The investigators discovered that both of the arrested persons had spoken to another suspect in Karachi before an attack. The suspect detained by law enforcers in Karachi has been moved to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Police and intelligence agencies have also identified the three terrorists involved in the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

Sources told ARY News that the three terrorists who stormed the Chinese Consulate in Karachi’s Clifton area were identified as Azal Khan Marri alias Sangat Dada, Raees Baloch and Abdul Razzaq Deen Muhammad.

The initial investigation report further said that Abdul Razzaq Deen Muhammad was an employee of Balochistan government and Sindh government would now approach Balochistan government in this regard. It is pertinent to note here that a pro-India militant organization, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has also claimed responsibility of the attack.

At least three suicide attackers tried to storm the Chinese consulate in the Karachi on Friday morning, but were killed before they could get into the building.

Two policemen embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with the three terrorists armed with suicide jackets. Two civilians were also killed in the attack.
