Police officials torture shopkeepers, guards of Lahore mall

LAHORE: Police officials allegedly subjected shopkeepers and security guards of a shopping mall to torture in Lahore on Thursday, ARY News reported.

ARY News has obtained a surveillance camera footage in which you can see Gulberg police station SHO beat guards and traders at Hafeez Centre with butt of his pistol. Another SHO Azhar Naveed also hit guards with Kalashnikov.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of Lahore Police said shopkeeper Zohaib and customer Ikram came to blows after exchange of hot words. Ikram, who has suffered head injury, called the police helpline 15. Upon which, police personnel of two police stations had arrived.

Police brought both of them to police station, the spokesman said.

He said Ikram had come to the mall for getting installed mobile software. He said the customer’s claim of being a son of a police officer was false.

The Superintendent Police Model Town has taken notice of the incident and directed his Gulberg police station’s assistant Abdul Wahab to present him an investigation report into the incident.

The police spokesman said further investigation into the incident was underway and action would be taken after finalising of the probe report.
