PPP MNA Ayaz Soomro passes away in New York
NEW YORK: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and MNA Muhammad Ayaz Soomro passed away in New York after a protracted illness on Monday night.
The lawmaker, 59, breathed his last at a hospital in New York, where he was under treatment for a serious heart ailment for some days.
He had been undergoing treatment at Karachi’s National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) before he was moved to the United States for further treatment some 20 days ago.
Ayaz Soomro was elected on the National Assembly seat (NA-204) in Larkana on a ticket of the PPP in 2013.
Before being elevated to the National Assembly in 2013, he remained Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs in the previous five-year stint of the PPP government in Sindh.
